Full Description

There was a Second World War roadblock a minor bridge over the River Stour on the track to the Horton level crossing near Horton Grange. Anti-tank obstacles, flanking the roadblock on one or both sides, survive. The bridge seems to have been prepared for demolition in the event of an invasion. This stretch of River Stour was adopted as a kind of ‘Stop Line’ early in 1941, but it is conceivable this block may be earlier than this.
