Full Description

In March 1941 there was a Second World War observation post just to the north of Island Road, opposite Upstreet Farm, toward the north-east end of that low spur of land, overlooking the marshes, upon which Upstreet and Hersden stand. The post provided information to ā€˜D’ and ā€˜E’ Troops of the 220 Battery of the 112 Field Regiment Royal Artillery, who manned guns further inland at Sturry.
