Full Description

There was a civil-defence warden’s post at Fordwich during the Second World War. In November 1940 the Bridge-Blean Rural District Council were paying the Fordwich Parochial Church Council for its use, suggesting it was in a church hall (a typical location) or perhaps at the village school(?). Both were in the vicinity of the Parish Church and the loose grid reference reflects this.
