Full Description

There was a Second World War pillbox on St Thomas’ Hill, Canterbury. This was pillbox No.3 in the 1940 list of pillboxes in East Kent (2 December); it was in Sector 7 of the area, at the stated Military Grid reference R 574774. It was probably at or near the road junction with Neal’s Place Road, defending the north-western approach to Canterbury. Oddly it was just outside the major roadblock on this approach, which adjoined St Edmund's School.
