Full Description

This emplacement, for a mobile six-pounder anti-tank gun, was at the edge of built-up Canterbury, in a field which was clearly intended for residential development, and which already had some new houses and a residential road-layout in place. It had been established by mid April 1941, and would clearly have faced eastward, out of town. The gun was usually kept at the Anti-tank Battery headquarters at The Rowans on Ethelbert Road, but would be brought out on command. The Military Grid Reference of the emplacement was R 603747.
