Summary
There was a Second World War roadblock on St George’s Place, at its junction with Upper Bridge Street, which locally formed the Inner Perimeter of the Canterbury Fortress. This block would have been covered by fire from fortified houses up on St George’s Terrace, overlooking the City Wall.
