Full Description

By late 1941 there was a Second World War roadblock at the south end of Albion Place, at its junction with Broad Street - which locally formed part of the Inner Perimeter of the Canterbury Fortress. (Albion Place was formerly less of a cul-de-sac than it is today - communicating with Artillery Road. Had it not been blocked it would have offered a bypass to the roadblock at the south end of Military Road.)
