Full Description
There was a Second World War roadblock near the waste water treatment works on the Sturry Road. This was road block No. 23 in a list of permanent road blocks in the 43 Divisional area at the end of November 1940. By early 1941 it may well have been covered by an anti-tank gun emplacement and/or pillbox which are known to have existed in the near vicinity.
