Full Description

There were Second World War fougasse batteries on both sides of St Martin’s Hill, beside St Martin’s Priory. A fougasse at this point was proposed in late April 1941, and had been installed, and possibly augmented, by the middle of 1942. No roadblock is known to have existed at this point.
