Full Description

This building on the Nackington Road, at the edge of built-up Canterbury (Military Grid Reference R 597744) had been adopted as a fortified house - one of two very close together - by November 1940. This was fortified house No. 31 in a list of such structures made 2 December that year, and its companion was No. 32. Possibly these were two buildings flanking the road, this being the one on the east. This was one of a string of fortified houses defending Canterbury’s southern edge.
