Full Description
In mid September 1941, the Canterbury Fortress Defence Schemes show a fortified house on the south side of Old Park Avenue, firing along the south-eastern flank of the Sturry Road. It stood just outside the Outer Perimeter of Canterbury Fortress, may have been part of the defences of the ‘Mobilization Store’ Forward Post, strengthening the defences on the Sturry Road approach. The building no longer exists. The fortified house was probably established as part of the strengthening of the Canterbury Fortress.
