Monument record TR 15 NE 830 - Second World War fortified houses among the married quarters at Canterbury Barracks

Summary

By mid September 1941 various ‘fortified house’ type emplacements had been established among the married quarters at Canterbury Barracks. There were two positions in the block of married quarters nearest the Outer Perimeter of the Canterbury Fortress, and another in a small building at the south-east end of the married quarters. Lines of concrete anti-tank obstacles were erected blocking the paths between the blocks on their forward sides.
