Summary
Former Paper Mill, possibly 'Lower Mill', visible on 1st edition Ordnance Survey maps. There were several mills on the East Malling stream which was particularly clear and fresh and as such ideal for paper-making. Most replaced earlier corn mills. South of Blackland stood the Lower, Middle and Upper Mills and this site may be the Lower Mill.
