Full Description
In 2000 during the digging of a new grave in plot 218 of the churchyard extension a sherd of Early Bronze Age Beaker was found at a depth of 0.9m below the turf. The grave plot was enlarged and four flint flakes and a probable Early Bronze Age blade fragment were found within 0.25m of the sherd's findspot at a similar level. When later graves were opened additional evidence of Bronze Age occupation was found in the form of pottery, flake cores and debitage (1).
