Full Description
A woodland survey carried out by the Friends of Old Park Wood in 2009 recorded a number of archaeological features. One was a rectangular ditched enclosure and a number of associated banks. The enclosure had cuasewayed entrances on the north and east sides. The date of the enclosure is unknown but it is probably a medieval or post-medieval stock enclosure.
The bank measures c. 30m x 20m in dimension. The banks are now 2 - 3m wide and 0.5 - 0.75 m high. A ditch originally existed on the outerside but is now silted up. (1)
