Monument record TR 06 SW 260 - A medieval yard surface at 17-19 East Street, Faversham
Summary
Small scale excavations in the open garden area behind a terrace of three 19th century cottages revelaed a courtyard surface of large flints, dated by abundant pottery to the medieval period. To the north, the yard was cut east to west by a ditch or rubbish pit complex, also containing material of medieval to late medieval date. Elsewhere in the garden, high quality post medieval pottery was found in rubbish pits.
