Full Description
A watching brief in 2003 located a large pit to the rear of Rowling Court which was a privy built sometime between 1775 and 1825.
The pit had a large arched opening in one wall to allow emptying. No finds were recovered from within the pit but 19th century pottery sherds were found across the top of the infilled pit (1).
