Full Description

Possible Saxon cemetery visible as cropmarks from aerial photos. Visible on Google earth image, 2nd May, 2007. There appears to be over 200 graves in an area measuring 50m by 40m. It is located north of Monkton Road west of Ramsgate, Kent.(1)

Cropmarks of a possible Saxon/Early medieval Cemetery north-west of Minster seen as a cropmark and and mapped from Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007 as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. The site appears as a dense cluster of numerous oval and elongated pits aligned E-W thought to be the remains of grave cuts in a large cemetery extending over an area measuring 40m x 60m. (2)
