Full Description
During an archaeological watching brief undertaken on land to the rear of the Red Lion Pub, Charlton Green, Dover, an examination of the northern section of the trenching revealed the back of an infilled chalk block lined well. It had been filled with a cream chalky clay and was set in a construction pit. The fill of the construction pit produced a small assemblage of late 18th century clay pipes, all stamped with S. ?H.
