Monument record TQ 93 NE 65 - Former site of Station 417, a World War II Advanced Landing Ground

Summary

One of ten Advanced Landing Grounds built in 1942-3. It was used by the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943 onwards. An early Prefabricated Bituminised Surfaced runway was laid in 1943 by the RCAF. The site was quickly returned to agricultural use after the war.
