Monument record TR 34 SW 907 - A brick built tunnel, possibly part of Second World War air raid shelters
Summary
During a watching brief in 2002 the top of a brick built tunnel was exposed. It runs parallel to the High Street to the rear of the properties. Records from 1939 indicate that a tunnel was proposed to link a number of caves in the town for use as air raid shelters. (location accurate to the nearest 5m based on available information)
