Full Description
Two prehistoric flints recovered from the topsoil during an evaluation. Both of these had been worked as implements.
From the report:
"One implement consists of a piece of tabular ‘Bullhead’ flint, D-shaped in plan. This has had flakes detached alternately round the edges. Retouching has been applied to the curved edge in order to produce a cutting tool. There has also been some more recent damage.
The other piece is also made from ‘Bullhead’ flint. A small nodule has had a series of long flakes removed from both ends, perhaps to create a small axe/adze of a type known from Mesolithic contexts." (1)
