Findspot record TQ 67 SE 1235 - Flint flakings found during clearance of ground for extensions at Kings Farm School

Summary

A few flakes from the working of lint were recovered from the base of the topsoil but otherwise no archaeolgical material was noted within the approximatley 150 sq.m. of the chalk hilltop cleared for this work. A group of irregular pits and hollows in the bedrock were recorded but appear to be purely late- or early post-glacial solution features. Although natural, these were recorded in view of their potential interest for the study of Pliestocene deposits in this area, close to the important dites of Swanscombe and Northfleet.
