Full Description
The Westerham Valley Branch line was opened in 1881 between Westerham and a junction with the London - Tonbridge line at Dunton Green. It was closed in 1961.
Description from record TQ 55 SW 228:
Dunton Green to Westerham branch line opened 1881 closed 1955. Branch of the Orpington to Tonbridge line opened in 1868. The branch was served by a halt at Chevening and stations at Brasted and Westerham. The central 2 miles of the disused line have been redeveloped as part of the M25 motorway, the rest largely survives as an earthwork. (1)
