Full Description
A Roman villa 20mx35m was found. It had ragstone walls 70cm wide (no mortar) which were the foundation walls only (no floors were found). It was a typical corridor design with several internal walls. A piece of Upchurch ware sherd rim suggested a 2nd-3rd Century date. Extending SE from the building there was a trace of a rectangular enclosure which was either a garden or another older building (not trial trenched). (1)
