Aerial photos from 1990 appear to show a possible long barrow as a cropmark in a field near Monkton, north of Walters Hall Farm.

The cropmark consists of two wide, c.3m, slightly curving ditches running parallel describing a roughly rectangular shape c.40m in length, aligned east-west. Within this there is an additional dark cropmark of an oval at the west end of the space.(1)

Cropmarks ofa possible long barrow visble on aerial photographs (NMR 2639/3132 01-AUG-1985 and Google Earth images taken in April 2017) in a field near Monkton, north of Walters Hall Farm.This site has been mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. the site appears as a capsule shaped ditched enclosure with traces of broad slighly irregular ditches between measuring between 2.7m and 4.6m across, defining the long northern and southern sides. The eastern curved end is defined by a narrow ditch, the western end is curved, but less distinct. The entire feature measures 21m x 49.2m (2-3)
