Full Description
Evaluation excavation undertaken by MoLAS in Dec 2007 prior to construction works at Peter’s Village, Wouldham. A shallow 5.4m wide linear feature, the fill of which included late 19th to early 20th century ceramic building material. The upper fill contained decomposing railway sleepers, suggesting the linear feature was a construction or demolition cut for railway track bedding, associated with the nearby 19th/20th century cement works.
