Full Description

Rectangular open-aired brickwork chamber originally measuring at least 7m x 2.75m x c.0.5m deep, with a 2m square extention on the NW end which has a circular void in its centre. Its purpose is unclear but possibly for drying quarried material prior to transportation. (1)

Built between 1897-1923 (2nd and 3rd OS 25" maps).
