Full Description
Excavation at Snodland undertaken by Archaeology South-East in 2008 prior to development works found evidence of Roman buildings relating to the villa to the east and limited activity from other eras.
Small inhumation cemetery dating from the mid-late 4th century. Possibly extends beyond the limit of excavation. 5 inhumations clustered in the SE of the site and enclosed by a ditch on the western side, with a further inhumation 30m to the NW. 3 adult and three infant inhumations with ‘simple graves’, aligned NW-SE with the heads at either end.
