Full Description
Watching brief undertaken by AOC in 2006-7 at Stop 24, Junciton 11, M20 prior to construction of motorway services.
Ditches relating to 4 phases of field systems, from the 1st to 3rd centuries AD (though pottery evidence suggests a presence on the site about a century either side of this date range). A number of small pits also dated to the Roman period though dating could not be more precise. Three pieces of residual flint were found possibly indicating prehistoric activity in the vicinity. (1)
