Full Description
Proposed alternative route for the Ashford-Sutton Valence Roman road. (1)
In 2011 Wessex Archaeology conducted a geophysical survey of the Chilmington Green development area. The course of this road was detected where it departed from the Chilmington Green Road to run southwards towards Tally Ho Road, passing through the western side of Stubbcross Wood. No clear trace was found of its further course south after it has met with the Roman road running south west from Ashford. (2)
