Full Description
'The Downs between Stowting (TR 1241) and Brabourne (TR 1041) are fissured by small but steep-sided coombs with abrupt heads, and round about and in these coombs Mrs Paterson has found pottery fragments in addition to flint flakes used by the early inhabitants'. (1) (Earthworks, perhaps of Iron Age date, were also noted in the area being studied by Mrs Paterson - see TR 14 SW 11)
