Full Description
[TR 19545557] Cobham Court and remains of Court House [NR] (1) The original part of Cobham Court, Bekesbourne, is 17th c. and was added to in the early 19th c. It was the court house of the manor. (2) Cobham court, a private residence, is as described, and is in excellent condition. See GP: AO/65/59/3 from E. (3) Cobham Court: A house and former manorial court house, part of which may date to the late medieval period, (potentially 1400-1540), with later post medieval alterations. The plan of the building was originally L-shaped, the orginal portion being what is now the south-east and south-west fronts. These are built of red brick and have two storeys, featuring a stringcourse; the windows are casements. The remaining side was filled in during the early 19th century, the more recent section is faced with roughcast. The tiled roof of the building is hipped.
