Full Description
(TR 18045978) Watergate House (NAT) (1) Watergate House and Watergate Cottage, King Street, Fordwich. Grade II*. Originally the Manor House, later the Rectory. C18 exterior with C19 alterations, but the interior is older with 2 bays of C16 anda mid C17 addition, and contains a C15 fireplace. The west wing is Watergate Cottage with hipped tile roof. Remains of early C17 "antique work" mural in the oldest part of the building. (2) [For full description see list]. Additional bibliography. (3)
