Monument record TR 15 NE 51 - Mote site, Lower Hardres, Canterbury

Summary

Originally called Wyke, had a succession of owners until about 1455 when Philip Belknap,mayor of Canterbury and sherriff of Kent, built a new house there. Soon after the name was changed to Mote a name that it retained until it was demolished in 1785.
