Full Description

(Centred TR 169576) 'Old Park', a deer park situated immediately south of King's Park (TR 15 NE:138) belonged to St Augustine's Abbey (TR 15 NE:124). It probably ceased to exist as a park in 1538 when King's Park was being set up. A house in the middle of the park, now demolished was from the 18th century at least, known as Stone House, probably dating from before circa 1600. The grounds of the present St Martin's Hospital are coincident with those of the park. (1)

The southern boundary of the park still exists as a substantial bank and ditch (2)
