Monument record TR 15 NE 282 - Romano-British bldg, Donkey Mill Stone

Summary

Excavations in a cellar on the south west side of St George's Street in 1947 discovered the sleeper-beam trench and gravel floor of a late 2nd and early 3rd century Roman building. Part of the upper stone of a Donkey mill was found and indicates a baker's shop nearby.
