Full Description

Chantry chapel of St. Mary, Fawkham. This stood in a field to the east of the Church (TQ 56 NE 21) and adjoining the churchyard. An engraving of the roofless building in 1769 is the Custumale Roffensis,1788, 116 by J Thorpe. The walls and foundations were removed in 1857. The Chantry was founded in 1274 by Sir William de Fawkham. (1)
