Full Description
(TR 15145758) Several medieval layers were found, the most significant containing coal and 14th century pottery during the summer of 1947 when a small trench was dug against the outside face of the city wall in the Cattle Market 40m south of the south kerb of St George's Street. A small hollow contained a crucible and it is possible that metalworking may have taken place in the area. (1)
