Monument record TR 15 NW 448 - Timber buildings and Roman street
Summary
A metalworking site with timber buildings was found at no 44 Watling Street dating to the mid 1st century AD. These were succeeded by Roman road metallings, in turn sealed by a building dating to the mid-late 2nd century. A further timber building continued in use into the 4th century. Five Medieval pits were also found.
