Summary

Full Description

[TR 19006617] Hawe Farm formerly [NAT] Manor House [NR] [TR 18956615] Moat [NR] (1) The site of a manor house at Hawe Farm, Herne, which is itself 16th century, is surrounded by a moat, perfect in parts and traceable throughout. (2) The moat of homestead type is as described above; it is waterfilled and in good condition. No building material was found in the enclosed area. Published 1:1250 survey correct. Hawe Farm, apart from patches of 16th c walling is almost entirely a rebuilding of a late date, and is of little architectural interest. (3) TR 189622. Herne. Hawe Farm is listed as a medieval moated site. (4) TR 189662. General listing. (5)
