Full Description

Sherds of black and dark brown pottery, provisionally identified as LBA/IA, have been found recently in the garden of `The Hut', Hillborough Road, about 100 yards from the Dence Park finds. [TR 16 NE 7]. (1) These finds were made while gardening and Mr. Gough indicated the find site at TR 18796 68215: a subsequent small excavation by Mr. Gough at TR 18880 68229 produced similar material. The site is probably an extension of the Dence Park LBA/IA complex some 120.0m to the South (TR 16 NE 7). (2)
