Full Description
Borehole carried out by Canterbury Archaeology Trust in 2007 during a watching brief of groundworks at 6-12 East Street. Within a layer of clay, which may relate to the former course of a stream, were sherds of late 13th-early 15th century pottery. This could show medieval settlement activity extending eastwards towards the stream crossing. A single sherd of Roman pottery may be residual. (1)
