Findspot record TR 16 NW 15 - Looped and socketed axe

Summary

A Late Bronze Age bronze socketed axe reportedly found in the vicinity of Whitstable. Like others with a Whitstable provenance (see associated records), it may well have been found offshore, though this cannot be proved. No details of the date or circumstances of discovery are known. The axe was donated to the Royal Museum Canterbury in 1948.
