Findspot record TR 16 SW 14 - Medieval Pottery Sherds, Cane Wood

Summary

Possible Medieval pottery kiln, part of the Tyler Hill pottery industry, was identified in Cane Wood in 1979. The site was represented by pottery, including wasters, recovered from a drainage ditch and was dated to the mid-late 14th century. The pottery was in a sandy micaceous firing fabric, forms included cooking pots and jugs.
