[TR 22443572] British Pottery found A.D.1878 [T.I.] (1) "Ancient British Pottery" consisting of broken vases was found in the Sandgate Road at the south-east corner of Christ Church grave yard, in 1878, and is now in the Folkestone Museum. (2) Only one of these 'vases' can be traced in Folkestone Museum, a tiny buff-coloured beaker, of uncertain but probably Roman date, 3 1/4" high, 1 1/4" wide at neck and base, and 2" in diameter at widest part of body. Nothing further is known about it at Folkestone Museum where it is described as Neolithic. (3)
