Full Description
RB remains in Dover Museum from Capel-le-Fern:- Black urn and a skeleton (1). Ovoid olla-shaped, cinerary urn of fumed coarse drab clay found in a grave with parts of a skull and jawbone (2). (Same as above?) C4th/C5th tall pedestalled bulbous beaker of hard buff clay. (1,2) The olla-shaped cinerary urn and parts of a skull and jawbone were presented to Dover Museum in 1866 but the exact provenance and circumstances of discovery are not known. (Acc No. A1.125). The C4th/C5th beaker was presented to the Museum by a Mr J Weston but no further information is given. (Acc No. A1.126). The objects could not be identified in the museum which was heavily bombed during the 1939-45 war. (3)
