Full Description
The 3.5 miles of double track between the main line at Sandling, via Hythe to Sandgate, was opened in 1874. Both stations were built above the towns and were unpopular with passengers for the inconvenient siting. The Hythe - Sandgate section was closed in 1931, and a bus garage built on the site of Sandgate station. Hythe closed in 1951, the station's site having completely disappeared.
