Monument record TR 23 NW 94 - Remains of Post-Medieval Building, The Bayle
Summary
The site near the cliff edge and c.100 metres east of the parish church (TR 23 NW 26) was excavated in February 1975 prior to the development of the land for a house. The remains of a post-medieval dwelling house fronting the modern street were found. These consisted of two short lengths of wall of large ragstone blocks. Pottery suggests the building was in use in the 17th century. This building overlay and partially destroyed the foundations of an earlier structure of which three walls were located (TR 23 NW 257). The precice location of the building is not given.
