Full Description
TR 2436. East Wear Bay, Folkestone. On the slope beneath the Roman villa (TR 23 NW 11) and C1st AD cemetery (TR 23 NW 109) a gold coin was found in 1865. It has a diameter of three-quarters of an inch, and is a Gaulish or British coin. On one side there is a horse with dot under barrel representing a helmet (see illustration card. The other side is smooth and convex. It is now in the possession of Miss Jeffery, Folkestone. (1-3)
